After approximately two years in Uniform Patrol, Captain Broussard continued her career in Narcotics where she was promoted to the rank of Corporal, General Investigations where she received the ranks of Sergeant and Lieutenant, and Homicide. After graduating from the LSU Academy, Captain Broussard was assigned to Uniform Patrol at Kleinpeter Substation. While assigned to the Parish Prison, Captain Broussard completed the corrections academy and the LSU Basic Academy. After graduation, Captain Broussard began her employment with EBRSO in March 2001. Captain Broussard attended Louisiana State University, and graduated in May 2000. After moving to Baton Rouge with her family in 1992, she graduated at the top of her class from McKinley Senior High School in 1994. Major Stewart was selected by the Louisiana Attorney General Office as the 2002 Peace Officer of the Year for his work with Louisiana’s elderly population, and was also a recipient of the Medal of Valor in 2009 awarded by Sheriff Sid Gautreaux III.Ĭaptain Chiquita Broussard is originally from St. He is also an active member and instructor for the East Baton Rouge Mobile Field Force. He then continued his career by being assigned to the General Detectives division, and most recently served as a supervisor in the Armed Robbery and Burglary division. He was one of the deputies that helped open the first substation on Burbank Drive in south EBR. He graduated from the Louisiana State Police Basic Academy in 2002, and then began work in Uniform Patrol at the Kleinpeter Substation. Major Stewart started his law enforcement career in February 1998 as a deputy at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison. He currently oversees the daily activities of the Armed Robbery/Burglary, Financial Crimes, Retail Theft, and Computer Forensics divisions. Major Willie Stewart serves as the Major over Detectives assigned to Property Crimes. Academy, and serves on the Maritime Response Team. Major Morris also served as the Assistant SWAT Commander, SWAT instructor, firearms instructor, teaches at the EBRSO C.A.R.T.A. Through his many years of service he has received numerous letters of commendation and was selected as the 2009 Detective Supervisor of the Year.
He commanded the EBRSO Homicide Division for ten years, first formed in 2008 by Sheriff Sid Gautreaux. Additionally, he served eight years with the Louisiana Department of Justice. He also served on two separate multi-agency homicide-investigation task forces, one of which identified and convicted Serial Killer Sean Vincent Gillis. Throughout his 17 years serving with the Sheriff’s Office Major Morris served in Corrections, Uniform Patrol, General Detectives, and the Armed Robbery and Burglary Division. Major Morris began his career at the Sheriff’s Office in 1984 as a Reserve Deputy and become full-time four years later, after graduating from the Louisiana State Police Basic Academy. the EBRSO Homicide Division, first formed in 2008 by Sheriff Sid Gautreaux.
The divisions he oversees include Homicide, General Detectives, Intelligence, Crime Victims’ Assistance, Homeland Security, Fusion Center, Evidence, Crime Scene and Latent Prints. Major Todd Morris serves as the Commander of Special Operations and Crimes Against Persons.
